Harveys Tahoe Summer Concert Series

The 2016 Harveys Summer Concert Series calendar includes: Sting with Peter Gabriel (July 15) Keith Urban, featuring Brett Eldredge with Maren Morris (July 29)

Lake Tahoe, Nevada: Straddling the California-Nevada border, this alpine nirvana has long been a retreat for adventure-sport enthusiasts. Winter brings skiers and snowboarders to slopes like Heavenly, Northstar and Squaw Valley—which hosted the 1960 Winter Olympics. But it’s after the thaw when Lake Tahoe comes alive: Boaters hit the water; hikers trek the 165-mile Tahoe Rim Trail; and golfers take aim on the manicured fairways. Each July, Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course hosts the American Century Championship.

A favorite for fans who dock boats near the 17th green, this celebrity golf tournament has been attracting athletes like John Smoltz, Roger Clemens, Michael Jordan and Tony Romo for years. Long days on the lake end in purple sunsets and rocking nights at Harveys Summer Concert Series. The 7,200-seat outdoor amphitheater has hosted a wide range of acts. Elton John, Brad Paisley, Aerosmith, Imagine Dragons and Kenny Chesney all played last summer.

Those looking to try their luck can stay at Harrah’s or Harveys on the Nevada side. Harrah’s Lake Tahoe just renovated its 512-room hotel. The resort has two floors of luxury suites, though even the standard rooms at Harrah’s are deluxe size with two bathrooms and angled windows so you can gaze out at both
the mountains and lake.

The American Century Championship is July 19-24, 2016

Big changes are coming to The LINQ. Over the next few months, the outdoor dining and retail hub will open a handful of new restaurants including artisanal gelato maker Amorino, Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips and the Purple Zebra frozen daquiri bar. Also opening: Virgil’s Real Barbeque, which will serve smoked meats such as Memphis-style pork ribs, Carolina pulled pork and Texas beef brisket in a 14,000-square-foot space with a poolside patio.

Picnic In The (Beer) Park

Tailgate-Style Sports Bar On The Las Vegas Strip

Take me out to the beer park. Sports fans are singing the praises of Beer Park by Budweiser—a game-day party perched on the deck of Paris
Las Vegas. Complete with picnic tables, this 10,000-square-foot rooftop sports bar fires up burgers, brisket, ribs and sausages on an outdoor grill, dishes out concession snacks from roaming carts on the patio, and serves more than 100 beers—36 of them on tap.

Giada at Uncork’d event

Vegas Uncork’d by Bon Appétit made its debut ten years ago. Today, the food festival is one of the premier culinary and wine celebrations in America. This star-studded affair is the one weekend of the year when world-renowned chefs gather together to celebrate their Las Vegas restaurants, cook exceptional dinners and participate in the Grand Tasting at Caesars Palace. “There’s nothing like Uncork’d anywhere else in the world — and I do a lot of festivals and travel the world endlessly,” explains Gordon Ramsay. “There’s never a weekend that houses so many chefs and so many foodies in one place.”
