Opening Act: Jimmy Kimmel Bringing Laughs To Las Vegas

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel will open a comedy club in Las Vegas in spring 2019. Located across from Brooklyn Bowl on The LINQ Promenade, the 8,000-square-foot club will seat up to 300 people and feature both top comics and up-and-coming comedians.

“Building a club like this in my hometown is a dream come true,” explains Kimmel, who grew up in Las Vegas, attended Clark High School and had family employed at Caesars Palace. “I am obsessing over every detail to make this the most comedy-friendly club in the world. My aim is to capture the spirit of classic Vegas.”

The club will offer shows nightly seven nights a week and serve booze and bites. Kimmel hasn’t announced the menu, but says it will feature finger food to avoid distractions and the clatter of utensils.  Kimmel says he’ll highlight the club on his late-night show and likely film in Las Vegas.

“We’ll be able to go live to the club from L.A. to put comics on the show from there,” Kimmel told The Hollywood Reporter. “I really think we lose something when we have a comic in a TV studio. I feel like the late-night entertainment part of Las Vegas has gone away, and I want this to be a place where we have midnight shows. If [comedians] are in town to do a big show in a showroom, maybe they come in to do some material, or they warm up the night before.”
